Opening a Branch Office in Manhattan

As companies expand they generally have two choices. They can continue to grow in their current location, buying larger and larger buildings and centralizing their operations, or they can open a branch office in another city which provides access to a whole new base of potential clients and business. Most companies operating in New York City or its environs dream about one day opening an office in Manhattan.

This dream will never be realized for most companies. Manhattan office space tends to be rather expensive and, at the same, in high demand. Even with new skyscrapers being built all the time, there never seems to be enough offices available for everyone who wants a Manhattan address. Those companies that are lucky enough to find an office that matches their business needs and fits their budget should snap it up without hesitation before someone else does.

Aside from obtaining a business address, starting a branch in Manhattan is much like opening a new office anywhere else in the country. Businesses will need to deal with utility companies, city licenses, moving companies, and office furniture retailers. They will need to purchase computer equipment, hire staff, and familiarize themselves with parking, sanitation, and maintenance processes. They will also want to coordinate their marketing and advertising efforts to call attention to their new office and attract new customers.
